Nathaniel (Nate) Lacktman is a partner and health care lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP where he is the Chair of the firm’s national Telemedicine and Digital Health Industry Team.

Mr. Lacktman advises health care providers and technology companies on business arrangements, regulatory compliance, and corporate matters, with particular attention to telehealth, digital health, and health innovation. He works with hospitals, providers, entrepreneurs, and start-ups to build meaningful, scalable telemedicine arrangements across the United States and Internationally. His approach to practicing law emphasizes strategic counseling, creative business modeling, and fresh approaches to realize clients’ ambitious and innovative goals.

Mr. Lacktman is nationally recognized for being at the forefront of digital health and telemedicine, and holds seats on several advisory boards in the industry. He lectures and publishes frequently on the law and business of health technology and is often quoted for his insight about developments in this area. He has appeared in publications such as POLITICO, NPR, Modern Healthcare, Forbes, Fox News, Bloomberg, Reuters, Huffington Post, MobiHealthNews, Wired, Inside Counsel, Buzzfeed, mHealthIntelligence, and Information Week, among others.

He has written telehealth legislation, regulations, comments, and policy statements to lawmakers, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Congressional Research Service, the American Telemedicine Association, the American Heart Association, state Medicaid Agencies, and state boards of medicine across several states. His skills have been recognized by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers, where he is listed as a notable practitioner (2013-2018).

Mr. Lacktman lives in Palma Ceia with his wife, Malloy, and their two children, Oliver and Bennett.  Their children attend St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School, where Nate volunteers as a den leader with the Boy Scouts of America.  He is a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Southern California School of Law.
