Nancy Baumann has been one of the most dedicated advocates for the Southeast Region of Canine Companions for the past 20 years.  She was honored during the recent Tales & Tails Gala as the founding chairperson of the event. The Tales & Tails Gala is the organization’s most successful single fundraising event has raised more than $5 million since its inception in 1996 and Nancy has been instrumental in its growth.

The impact of Nancy’s work has touched almost every facet of the organization. She has been a volunteer puppy raiser and has served as a member, officer of the executive committee and president of the Board of Directors.

Nancy is a visionary who is able to inspire others and has the unique talent of engaging those she touches. She actively recruited the leadership that enabled Canine Companions to successfully conduct a capital campaign and build the Anheuser Busch/ SeaWorld Campus that serves the Southeast Region.

For 20 years Nancy Baumann has been one of Canine Companions most dedicated advocates and truly exemplifies what is at the heart and soul of the organization. Nancy downplays all of this and says she volunteers simply because she loves what Canine Companions stands for. But to the individuals and families whose lives that Nancy has touched, her impact has been anything but small.
