Lap of Love

Dr. Jennifer Irizarry moved to the Tampa Bay area from Biloxi, Mississippi, at age eight. She remained in the region throughout her early education, eventually earning her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in 2017. She earned her veterinary degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, in 2022.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Irizarry completed a rigorous small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tampa. Her history with BluePearl runs deep; prior to her internship, she served as an ER veterinary nurse at the same location. Before transitioning to Lap of Love, she is concluding her tenure at a local Banfield Hospital. She is deeply grateful for her mentors —including the doctors and staff at Midwestern University, Banfield and BluePearl—whom she credits with teaching her to provide “platinum level” care and exceptional bedside manner to every patient and client.

Dr. Irizarry is dedicated to providing high-quality medical care while offering individualized treatment options tailored to each client’s specific needs. She believes client education is the cornerstone of pet health, driving both practice growth and treatment compliance. She takes great pride in working alongside a conscientious staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes and client satisfaction.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Irizarry enjoys an active lifestyle with her cats, Holly and Archer, and her dog, Orchid. Her hobbies include fencing, longboarding, listening to music, and exploring 1980s pop culture. She also enjoys participating in local community events hosted by the University of South Florida Latino Alumni Society and discovering the hidden gems of the greater Tampa Bay area.
