Internal Medicine
Dr. Jorge Gadea is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has been practicing in Tampa since 1998.
After graduating with highest honors from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, he moved to Philadelphia to complete his residency before returning to Florida.
In addition to his internal medicine practice, Dr. Gadea served as Medical Director for a chronic disease management program developed between the Florida AHCA and private enterprise. The program helped Medicaid patients—one of Florida’s most vulnerable populations—better understand and manage their chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and heart failure, resulting in improved health outcomes and a reduction in emergency care and hospitalizations. This philosophy aligns with his personal belief of helping all patients understand their medical conditions, health goals, and play an active role in optimizing their health.
Dr. Gadea has received numerous “Patients’ Choice Awards” and was recognized as one of “America’s Best Physicians” by the National Consumer Advisory Board. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and has received recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for diabetes care.
In 2023, Dr. Gadea was appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine, which he did until completing his term.
Dr. Gadea currently practices internal medicine with Tampa General Medical Group, where he also serves as a Medical Director for the organization.
Dr. Gadea believes that a primary care physician serves as an educator, counselor, motivator, and advocate in collaborating with a patient in their health journey.
“As an osteopathic physician, I strongly believe in a holistic approach to providing patient care. It is important to listen to and understand a patient’s concerns while using clear communication. Together we can partner to reach their health goals.”
