Emergency Veterinarian, Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center

Dr. Lentovich grew up in Westchester County, NY. She graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in Massachusetts with a degree in biology and was inducted into Sigma Xi, the scientific research honor society, with a concentration in immunology.

She pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian by moving to the Sunshine State and graduating with high honors from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned membership in Phi Zeta, the veterinary honor society, and served as president of IAAAM. During this time, she was active in marine mammal, zoo, aquatic, and wildlife medicine, including research on manatees. She also completed an internship in zoo and marine mammal medicine at the Marine Mammal Center and Marine World Africa USA in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Lentovich has spent most of her career in emergency medicine and critical care at referral hospitals throughout the Tampa Bay area. She has a strong foundation in emergency medicine, surgery, and critical care, including exotic animal medicine, and remains active in wildlife and marine mammal rehabilitation.

She thrives in the collaborative environment of a tertiary care veterinary facility, where working alongside multiple specialists supports continual learning and growth. She is passionate about helping animals and their owners during emergencies and guiding them through critical moments with compassion and expertise. Emergency and critical care medicine remains her primary focus, and she enjoys managing complex cases across a wide range of species.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Lentovich loves spending time with her husband, twin daughters, and her pets. She also enjoys pursuing her love of wildlife and adventure. Last summer, she fulfilled her dream by swimming with wild humpback whales in Tonga, an experience she describes as profoundly meaningful. She is eagerly planning to return this summer.
