Trial Attorney
Jennifer Gentry Fernandez is a trial attorney and co-founder of the Fernandez Firm, specializing in representing families and individuals injured through negligence. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer witnessed the impact her father, W.C. Gentry, had on his clients, sparking a passion for advocacy. While pursuing journalism at the University of Florida, she realized law would allow her to combine her love of investigative research, writing, and public speaking with her desire to help others.
While earning her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law, Jennifer honed her skills on nationally recognized trial teams, earning accolades for “Best Advocate” in statewide competitions and semi-finalist honors in national trial competition. She began her career in Orlando defending medical malpractice claims, before transitioning to plaintiff representation, aligning her work with the client-centered advocacy she admired in her father’s practice. Jennifer and her husband, Frank Fernandez, founded the Fernandez Firm in 2003.
Jennifer’s professional philosophy is guided by the words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg: “Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” She carefully selects cases where she can pursue justice, approaching each with thorough investigation, compelling advocacy, and integrity. Her greatest measure of success is the enduring relationships she maintains with clients, many of whom remain lifelong friends.
Outside the office, Jennifer prioritizes health, family, and travel. Days begin with exercise and walks in Hyde Park with her labradoodle, Zeke. She enjoys skiing in Colorado, lobstering in the Florida Keys, and relaxing at family homes in St. Augustine and Anna Maria Island. Jennifer and Frank have raised two remarkable daughters, Ella and Olivia, instilling in them strength, compassion, and independence.
