TrueScan: Full-Body MRI & Cardiac CTA Center
Born from both personal loss and professional purpose, TrueScan was founded in St. Petersburg by Janice Summers, MD, and her son, Michael, with a mission to change the way disease is detected. After witnessing loved ones receive unexpected Stage IV cancer diagnoses, Dr. Summers—a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with more than 30 years of experience—became determined to create a future where preventable diseases are identified before they become life-threatening. That vision led to the launch of TrueScan, a proactive imaging center dedicated to helping patients take control of their health through early detection.
At the heart of TrueScan’s approach are two advanced screening services: the Full-Body MRI and Coronary CTA with HeartFlow AI. The Full-Body MRI provides a comprehensive, radiation-free evaluation capable of detecting cancers, aneurysms, autoimmune disorders, and other serious conditions in their earliest stages. Meanwhile, the Coronary CTA with HeartFlow AI offers one of the most advanced non-invasive assessments of heart disease available today, identifying dangerous plaque and evaluating blood flow with remarkable precision. Together, these technologies allow patients and physicians to uncover hidden health risks before symptoms ever appear.
One of TrueScan’s most meaningful milestones came when the center detected its first Stage I cancer in an individual who felt completely healthy. Since then, the team has helped uncover many other cancers, life-threatening aneurysms, significant cardiac blockages, neurological conditions, and other serious findings that may have otherwise gone undiagnosed for years. These success stories continue to strengthen relationships with physicians and specialists throughout the Tampa Bay region.
