Providing Quality and Compassionate Anesthesia
Dr. Ludner Confident was born in Haiti in 1949 and discovered his calling to medicine at the age of four, inspired by physicians who brought healing to his ill relatives. Guided by perseverance and faith, he completed fourteen years of primary and secondary education before being accepted into the Faculté de Médecine et de Pharmacie d’Haïti, where he earned his medical degree at age 24.
As a teenager Dr Confident enjoyed sports such as soccer, volleyball, and ping-pong .He was a dedicated artist who played instruments, like saxophone, guitar, violin, and piano. He also pursued formal training in drawing, oil painting, and ceramics to nurture his creative spirit .
After medical school, he passed the ECFMG examination and he immigrated to the United States in 1975. Then he completed a Surgery internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., followed by an Anesthesia residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He went on to serve nine years as Director of Anesthesia at two hospitals and he later moved to St Petersburg Florida where he was elected President of Bayfront Anesthesia Services, P.A.
Also Dr. Confident founded a nonprofit organization assisting Haitian refugees in New Orleans and supporting some hospitals in Haiti. After serving as Director of Anesthesia at a Trauma Center in New Mexico, he returned to Florida in 2019 . He currently provides anesthesia services at various hospitals and surgery centers in the Tampa Bay area.
Today, Dr. Confident expresses his faith and love for God’s creation through paintings, with exhibitions across the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia. As a pastor, he remains devoted to healing both body and soul, guiding others toward faith, hope, and peace. He is grateful for his loving family, including two sons who have followed his path into medicine.
