Periodontist and Implant Specialist
Dr. Dominick Catania is a board-certified periodontist and dental implant specialist treating patients in multiple offices throughout Tampa Bay. With expertise in dental implants, bone grafting, soft tissue grafting and periodontal disease treatment, he is dedicated to helping patients restore health, function and confidence in their smiles.
Dr. Catania has extensive experience managing complex implant cases, including patients with significant bone loss who may have previously been told they were not candidates for dental implants. He also plays an integral role in full-arch implant treatment, working closely with restorative dentists to coordinate the surgical and restorative phases of care. This collaborative approach provides patients with comprehensive treatment designed for predictable, long-term results.
Dr. Catania earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry before completing a three-year residency in periodontics and earning a Master of Science degree. During his residency, his research examining periodontal disease and dental implants was published in a peer-reviewed journal.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction awarded to only about 30% of the specialty. It recognizes advanced achievement and expertise in periodontal procedures and dental implants. In addition to private practice, Dr. Catania serves as a part-time faculty member at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where he helps train future periodontists.
Originally from the Fort Lauderdale area, Dr. Catania has called Tampa home since 2012. When he’s not taking care of patients, you’ll find him spending time with his wife, Katherine, and their three daughters. As a busy dad of three girls, much of his time outside the office is spent keeping up with their activities and enjoying family time together. Whether it’s a day at the beach, or simply relaxing at home, family is at the center of his life!
