Guava Dental
When Dr. Leslie Nevarez opened Guava Dental in Riverview in September 2024, she set out to build something she couldn’t find anywhere else: a dental office that feels less like a clinic and more like a welcoming home. Within its first year, the practice doubled in size, to keep up with a growing community of loyal patients.
A 2013 graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, Dr. Nevarez has spent more than a decade caring for families across Tampa Bay. Her philosophy is simple: exceptional dentistry should never come at the expense of how a patient feels. She takes time to listen, explains every option clearly, and treats every patient like a neighbor.
As the practice grew, Dr. Mary Rodriguez joined the team, bringing fresh training from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the same commitment to gentle, honest care. Together, the two doctors offer the continuity families value, with a shared approach built on clear communication and genuine compassion.
Their personal touch is backed by technology. Guava Dental offers 3D cone beam imaging, digital scanning that replaces messy impressions, laser dentistry, and in-house 3D printing for custom appliances like night guards, retainers and same-day crowns. For patients, that means more precise care, fewer visits, and a more comfortable experience.
Behind the botanical logo and calming sage-and-blush décor is a team of hygienists, assistants, and coordinators who like to say they are their patients’ biggest fans.
Outside the office, Dr. Nevarez is a busy mom of three who unwinds over mahjong with close friends. Dr. Rodriguez recently married her high school sweetheart, Ryan, and spends her free time working out, cooking, baking, and enjoying time with her pets. In the operatory or the community, both share one goal: helping Tampa Bay smile with confidence.
