Good Karma Veterinary Therapy

Becoming a veterinarian was my childhood obsession. My first friends were cats, and as an animal empath, I knew I was meant to dedicate my career to helping pets. Craving adventure, I moved to Australia to study at the University of Sydney.

Animals are sentient beings with unique personalities. They sense your feelings and decipher your mood. They recognize the sound of your footsteps and their excitement to see you arrive home is endearing.

Research shows measurable health benefits associated with pet ownership. Personally, spending time with them is extremely comforting and therapeutic. There is a universal language through which living beings can communicate that does not always require words. However, I enjoy talking and interacting with pets. I encourage owners to do the same because they find your voice familiar and soothing. Through my work I intend to explore and emphasize the human-animal bond.

At home I have two dogs and five cats. I am also a mom to a four-year-old son and two daughters, ages 7 and 6, who are both on the autism spectrum. Raising them completely changed my worldview, forcing me to reevaluate my priorities, slow down, and celebrate unique milestones.

Chronic burnout is typical of corporate veterinary medicine. So instead I launched our mobile practice, Good Karma Veterinary Therapy. Our goal is to provide low-stress, high-quality, compassionate care in the comfort of home. I initially expected to focus solely on pets. However I am deeply moved by the impact we make on families. Helping people is also incredibly fulfilling.

As I reflect on my veterinary journey this year, I am focused on self-care and leaning into trusting my intuition. I plan to expand my business and write books. Ultimately, I aspire to be a good example for my children and hope to make them proud.
